Steady Executor

Frequently asked questions

Is this legal advice?

No. Our kits are general information and self-help templates. They explain how the process generally works in a jurisdiction and give you tools to organise the work. They do not tell you what to do in your own situation. For that, speak to an attorney, solicitor or lawyer.

Which kit do I need?

Usually the kit for the state, province or country where the person who died lived. If they owned land or a home elsewhere, you may also need the kit for that place. Our kit selector helps you choose.

What files will I get?

Five files: a user guide (Word), an executor workbook (Excel) and three sets of letter templates (Word) for financial institutions, services and agencies, and beneficiaries.

Do the files work on a Mac or in Google Sheets?

Yes. The Word files open in Microsoft Word, Pages, LibreOffice and Google Docs. The workbook works in Microsoft Excel 2016 or later, LibreOffice Calc and Google Sheets. Drop-down lists and date calculations work in all three.

Does the kit include court or tax forms?

No. Official forms are free on the court or government website, and they change. The guide lists the forms that usually apply and links to the official page.

Do I need a lawyer?

It depends on the jurisdiction and the estate. Some courts expect a lawyer in certain situations, and some estates are complex. Each guide has a section on when to get professional help, based on the official guidance for that jurisdiction.

How do I receive my kit?

After payment you are redirected to a confirmation page and receive an email with a private download link. The link works 5 times within 30 days.

Can I get a refund?

Because the files are delivered immediately, you are asked at checkout to agree that delivery starts right away and that you lose the right of withdrawal. If a file is corrupted, missing or significantly different from its description, write to us and we will fix it or refund you. See the Refund Policy.

Who processes the payment?

Stripe, through Link, acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. It calculates and collects any sales tax, VAT or GST. Your card statement shows LINK.COM followed by our name.

Can you answer a question about my estate?

We cannot give advice on individual situations. We can help with downloads, file problems and refunds.

Can I share the files with my co-executor?

Yes, a co-executor of the same estate may use your copy. The licence does not allow resale, sharing outside the estate or publishing the files.

Can I buy from the European Union?

No. Our kits are offered only to customers who live outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. Orders with an EU or EEA billing address are cancelled and refunded automatically.

Is my information safe?

We store only what we need to deliver your order: your email address, your order and your download history. See our Privacy policy.
